It all started when…

Being a Local Board member for Child Evangelism Fellowship of Central Alabama (CEF™) is a spiritual calling. You are partnering with us to share the GREAT Good News throughout the counties we serve. You are stewarding the funds, telling friends, family, coworkers, acquaintances, churches, etc, about how they can partner with CEF to further the Eternal Kingdom together, and being the staff’s prayer partners in ministry together.

You were sent to this page to learn a small amount about what it means to be a member of the Local Board. Internally, we call it the “Local Committee” as we are part of the larger board of the State of Alabama. So, what does a board member actually do?

“A trustee (board or committee member) is one who has a sense of genuine responsibility and extraordinary personal commitment to the overall welfare of the organization, including the staff” (p10, Board Leadership: Impacting the Future Foundational Manual, 2024). You have a shared experience and skill-set that, coupled with your burden to evangelize the children of our community, will lead to growth within ministry and lead toward God’s name being known in amazing ways in the state of Alabama! The Local Board meets on average once monthly to discuss what’s happening, develop plans for events, and pray over the ministry together.

Interested in a deep dive on what all this means? Join us March 8, 4-8 pm at 8349 Marsh Pointe Drive, Montgomery, AL 36117 for a training where you will learn about the roles, the heritage of CEF, and the impact you can have as you partner with us to bring Glory to God!
