New Ministry at Pike Road, Floyd, and Selma

We are happy to report what the Lord is doing! In the 2017-2018 school year, we have already seen 65 students profess Christ as Lord and Savior. We are so thankful to all of you who pray, lead, and give of your time and resources to minister to the children in Central Alabama.

The Lord has also answered our prayers for more widespread ministry opportunities. Our first Good News Club in Selma began at Edgewood Elementary in January with partnering churches:  Bethel Church, Freedom Baptist, Elkdale Baptist and Church Street United Methodist Church.

On the same day the Selma club began, Two Cities Presbyterian Church of Montgomery started a new club at Floyd Elementary. The new pastor of Two Cities, James Williams, helped in a Good News Club® in Missouri.  When we approached him, he was eager to get a Good News ClubÒ started here.

This past fall, the Church at Pike Road, with the help of volunteers from Century and Centerpoint churches, began a Good News ClubÒ at Pike Road Elementary.  Also our first program geared toward young teens, called JYou ConnectionÔ (JYCÔ), started in the fall.  East Memorial Baptist Church in Prattville began the first JYCÔ in our area at Camp Grandview, while they continued the Good News ClubÒ they started there the year before.

God’s word says that “in the Lord your labor is not in vain” (1 Corinthians 15:58, ESV). Also in Isaiah 55:11 He says, “so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it. (ESV)” We are grateful to serve the Lord, share His word with the children of Central Alabama, and partner with you.  Thank you for your faithfulness.
